Scientific Animal Care Specialist

As a Scientific Animal Care Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work within a state government department, utilizing your qualifications in animal care and at least 3 years of animal care experience.
This role involves producing teaching aids, caring for animals/livestock, preparing equipment, providing technical expertise, and developing standard operating procedures.
- Producing teaching aids to support direct educational delivery
- Providing specific technical expertise in animal care
- Preparing equipment and materials for classes and coordinating work priorities
- Developing and writing standard operating procedures (SOP's) for support staff tasks
- Assisting with ordering and receiving consumables, minor plant, and equipment
The ideal candidate will possess a Trades Certificate IV or Relevant Diploma, comprehensive knowledge of equipment and materials, and proven ability to identify and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery.
Additionally, strong communication, organisational, and customer service skills are required.
BenefitsThis is a 10-month contract role requiring 2-3 days per week, with occasional travel to Campbelltown. A driving license is beneficial for this purpose.
