Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage animal husbandry within designated areas, adhering to standards.
  • Clean and maintain laboratory spaces, ensuring high levels of cleanliness and stocking consumables.
  • Monitor and refill water and feed according to instructions and protocol requirements.
  • Report health or behavioural abnormalities to senior staff.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry and weighing animals for medication.
  • Carry out basic manipulation techniques under supervision, including injections and euthanasia.
  • Maintain anaesthetic machines and associated equipment.

Requirements:

  • A commitment to animal welfare and care.
  • Knowledge of rodent husbandry, housing, and breeding requirements.
  • Previous experience handling rodents and basic manipulation skills preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.
