We are currently seeking a motivated and compassionate Animal Care Specialist to join our team at the local Council Animal Care Facility.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in handling animals, excellent communication skills and be self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Job Description

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing ongoing care to animals who come into the facility, including cleaning animal enclosures and providing advice on animal control issues. They will also assist with the operational running of the facility, including assisting with companion animal care and treatment.

In addition, the Animal Care Specialist will be responsible for monitoring the health and wellbeing of all animals at the facility, reporting any concerns to the Team Leader and maintaining accurate records as required.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide ongoing care to animals who come into the facility
  • Clean animal enclosures and provide advice on animal control issues
  • Assist with companion animal care and treatment
  • Monitor the health and wellbeing of all animals at the facility
  • Report any concerns to the Team Leader
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in handling animals
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
