Job Title: Program Coordinator

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Coordinator to join our team on a full-time term basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and planning placement programs, providing information to staff, and developing procedural guidance.

About You:

  • You will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence and negotiate.
  • A demonstrated knowledge of legislative frameworks and policies that guide social work and child protection practice is ideal.
  • You will have experience providing sound advice on social work/child protection matters and supporting team members to improve team performance.

About Us:

The Department for Child Protection plays a key role in protecting children, young people, and their families within South Australia. We provide support to vulnerable children and young people to be safe, strong, and connected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and plan placement programs, including Next Steps, Guardianship Family Day Care (GFDC), Supported Independent Living Services (SILs), and Placement and Support Packages (PasP).
  • Provide information to staff regarding placement programs and required referral information, and identify placement matching criteria.
  • Act as the central contact and communication point with case workers regarding each placement program in terms of placement matching, referrals, and placement transitions.
  • Develop procedural guidance to support the programs, working in consultation with key internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A degree level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers or appropriate degree qualification in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Health, or related field.
