Senior Mental Health Placement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mental Health Placement Specialist to support the College of Education, Psychology and Social Work at Flinders University.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify, develop, and enact placement relationships with external agencies.
  • Work with mental health service providers in South Australia and the Northern Territory to design innovative solutions for placement opportunities.
  • Contribute to planning, evaluation, and student placement assessment, taking on a leadership role as required.

To be successful, you will have completed a PhD and/or possess qualifications and equivalent professional experience in an area relevant to Social Work. Membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers is also required, along with a minimum of five years (FTE) of post-qualifying experience in the mental health sector.

  • Experience teaching and learning at a tertiary level, including curriculum design and field education.
  • Evidence of using effective learning and teaching approaches that enhance student success.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with students and evaluate student placement outcomes via digital platforms.
