About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our Service Operations Support team at Metso. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and services to our customers in the field, focusing on Metso Filtration, Flotation, and Thickener equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on service work on Metso Mineral Processing Equipment at customer sites, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of technical issues.
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers, product divisions, and sales personnel, providing expert advice and guidance on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Perform technical evaluations and analyze equipment and machine component failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Supervise and oversee projects on customer sites, ensuring compliance with global and customer procedures.
  • Complete field machine inspections, documenting findings and recommending improvements.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to Technical Support and Engineering teams for resolution.
  • Prepare post-site visit reports, time sheets, and expenses, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
  • Support warranty process and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of customer issues.
  • Promote Technical Support value add and support Technical Support Teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Identify equipment in the field that is not in our installed base, triggering data input and ensuring accurate records.

Requirements

  • Hold a Mechanical trade qualification.
  • High-level fault-finding aptitude.
  • Intermediate computer literacy in MS Office – Word and Excel.
  • Holds a current motor vehicle license – must have.
  • Must be physically fit and able to pass random medical and drug tests.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics.
  • Ability to work away from home, for extended periods and extended hours, on weekends or as required.
  • Clearly understand and competency in Risk management and safety rule compliance.
  • Full OEM training on Metso Equipment provided.
  • Ability to travel within short notice.
