About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our Service Operations Support team at Metso. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and services to our customers in the field, focusing on Metso Filtration, Flotation, and Thickener equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on service work on Metso Mineral Processing Equipment at customer sites, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of technical issues.
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers, product divisions, and sales personnel, facilitating effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Perform technical evaluations and analyze equipment and machine component failures to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Supervise and oversee projects on customer sites, ensuring compliance with global and customer procedures.
  • Complete field machine inspections, prepare post-site visit reports, and maintain accurate records of time sheets and expenses.
  • Support warranty processes and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) as required, promoting a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and document equipment in the field that is not part of our installed base, triggering data input and ensuring accurate records.

Requirements

  • Hold a Mechanical trade qualification and possess high-level fault-finding aptitude.
  • Intermediate computer literacy in MS Office – Word and Excel.
  • Hold a current motor vehicle license and be physically fit, able to pass random medical and drug tests.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics.
  • Ability to work away from home for extended periods, including weekends and extended hours, as required.
  • Clearly understand and competency in Risk management and safety rule compliance.
  • Full OEM training on Metso Equipment provided.
  • Ability to travel within short notice.
