Position Overview: Senior Civil Engineering Consultant

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will primarily focus on civil design projects, engaging in comprehensive project management and technical input. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Overseeing civil design projects and contributing technical expertise;
  • Conducting analyses and preparing detailed technical reports on stormwater management, pavement, and surfacing;
  • Inspecting ongoing works to ensure compliance with design specifications;
  • Managing construction contracts effectively;
  • Coordinating with colleagues, clients, subconsultants, and contractors;
  • Providing mentorship to junior staff;
  • Defining project scopes and preparing fee proposals;
  • Communicating effectively across all organizational levels and interpreting client requirements.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in civil engineering within Australia, supported by a recognized Civil Engineering degree. While registration as a Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is not mandatory, it is highly regarded. Additionally, you should have:

  • A solid understanding of planning and design principles for road systems, hydraulics, and stormwater management;
  • In-depth knowledge of Austroads design standards for both rural and urban road geometric design;
  • Expertise in pavement and surfacing design requirements as per Austroads and DTMR;
  • Thorough knowledge of QUDM and hydrological assessments;
  • Familiarity with software tools such as DRAINS, CIRCLY, and WaterCad;
  • Experience in managing construction projects and conveying practical insights to design teams;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities;
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in the Australian context.

Additional Requirements:
Applicants must hold a valid unrestricted driver's license and a Construction White Card, as occasional travel to job sites will be necessary.
