About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at InfraBuild Steel. As a key member of our Health and Safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of WHS risks across our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable InfraBuild WHS Policies and Global Standards.
  • Develop and implement local site WHS procedures and processes to meet InfraBuild Standards.
  • Support the site manager and business managers by championing the site WHS committee and providing guidance and support for WHS representatives.
  • Develop and deliver safety-related training to teams on site.
  • Support the completion of risk assessments related to WHS hazards.
  • Facilitate return to work on site.
Requirements
  • Relevant bachelor's degree in engineering, science, health, safety, or a related field.
  • Post-graduate qualifications in safety or occupational hygiene.
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Injury management and return to work.
  • Expertise in safety programs across manufacturing, production, or service operations.
  • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
  • Thorough understanding of Australian WHS legislation, particularly in the NSW context and subordinate legislation and codes of practice.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
  • Experience with regulators (e.g., SafeWork NSW, EPA, Department of Planning).
  • Experience with OHSAS 18001 and/or ISO 14001 and Self-insurance frameworks.
