Work Health and Safety Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Work Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Work Health and Safety legislation and company policies across the site.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of WHS legislation and compliance requirements, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor site-specific safety procedures and protocols.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate and lead incident investigations, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up actions.
  • Deliver WHS training and inductions to new and existing staff members.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering & Manufacturing department to address safety concerns.
  • Monitor and report on key WHS metrics and performance indicators.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all WHS-related matters on-site.

Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification in Workplace Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a WHS role, ideally within the FMCG industry.
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in incident investigation and risk assessment processes.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to safety challenges.
  • Experience working in an Engineering & Manufacturing environment is advantageous.
