Job Summary

The Student Grievance Advisor will provide an advisory and complaints resolution service to the University community in relation to student complaints and appeals. The role involves managing student misconduct, reviewing incidents concerning student behaviour, and providing guidance on University complaint processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Incident Review and Management: Review and assess reported incidents concerning student behaviour, work with stakeholders to address matters, and support misconduct referrals under the Student Misconduct Policy.
  • Advice and Support: Provide guidance on University complaint processes and ancillary letters to relevant bodies when required.
  • Appeals and Outcomes: Assess student appeals for grounds, negotiate outcomes, and refer students to appropriate University support services.
Requirements
  • Experience and Skills: Substantial experience in providing advice and support on organisational policies and procedures, high-level verbal and written communication skills, ability to analyse data, determine trends, and make recommendations to address identified gaps and risks.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Well-developed interpersonal communication skills, experience in coordinating key stakeholders, responding professionally to complex customer requests, and managing conflict.
  • Knowledge and Expertise: Knowledge of University of Adelaide policies and procedures relating to student matters.
