About the Role

The ACT Government is seeking an exceptional individual to support the Registrar, Supreme Court in providing legal, administrative, policy, and procedural advice. This role requires a dynamic and organized person who can provide support to the Supreme Court and the judiciary, including exercising statutory powers of a Registrar of the Court.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal, administrative, policy, and procedural advice to the Registrar, Supreme Court.
  • Support the Supreme Court and the judiciary in exercising statutory powers.
  • Assist in the management of cases across multiple jurisdictions, including civil and criminal jurisdictions.
  • Prepare written and oral research and advice to assist the Court in operating efficiently.
  • Support the Registrars in leadership, management, and building the capacity and professionalism of the organization.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication skills to work well within a team and individually to achieve team and organizational objectives.

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Hold a degree in laws from an Australian tertiary institution.
  • Be admitted as a legal practitioner, however described, of the High Court of the Supreme Court of an Australian state or territory.

Notes

  • A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
