Intake Case Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Intake Case Worker to join our Supporting Recovery Local Care Team (LCT). As the first point of contact for clients who have experienced Family & Domestic Violence and childhood Sexual assault, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality case management and referral pathways.
Your primary responsibilities will include undertaking initial assessments, engaging clients using strengths-based approaches, maintaining databases of referral pathways, and reviewing LCT emails daily to check for new referrals. You will also be responsible for ensuring referrals are forwarded to the Supporting Recovery LCT within designated timeframes and holding a caseload of clients waiting to be allocated to a Case Worker.

Key Responsibilities- Undertake initial assessments of clients who have experienced Family & Domestic Violence and childhood Sexual assault
- Engage clients using strengths-based approaches to ensure eligibility criteria is met
- Maintain databases of referral pathways for clients who may not meet eligibility criteria
- Review LCT emails daily to check for new referrals
- Ensure referrals are forwarded to the Supporting Recovery LCT within designated timeframes
- Hold a caseload of clients waiting to be allocated to a Case Worker
- Qualifications in Social Work, Social Science, or related discipline
- At least 2 years of case management experience, ideally working with people who have experienced trauma
- Experience supporting families affected by trauma, domestic violence, childhood sexual assault, and mental health
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and a goal-focused approach
- Clear understanding of child protection issues and mandatory reporting responsibilities
