
Information and Data Access Manager

This exciting opportunity exists within a dedicated government relations and legal team, supporting communities of NSW.
The Information and Privacy Officer will lead the agency's commitment to its information access and privacy principles. Key responsibilities include:
- Responding to requests for information, coordinating and actioning privacy complaints and breaches
- Making decisions regarding the release of information in accordance with legislation and associated policies and procedures
- Providing paralegal and administrative support, assisting with coordination of Parliamentary, Ministerial and other agency requests
- Ensuring staff awareness of their obligations through specialist advice and training, supporting compliance with the agency's privacy and public information access
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Excellent time management skills and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
- Able to research and provide accurate advice on GIPA and privacy obligations, maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, exercising judgement and demonstrating decisiveness
- Proactive work planning, prioritising decisions within the scope of the role, ensuring accuracy withstands review and scrutiny
- Strong written communication and relationship-building skills
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- Ability to thrive in complex, high-volume legislative environments
- Previous experience or interest in releasing government information under the GIPA Act
- Teamwork and stakeholder engagement skills
