This role is part of our Dementia Centre, supporting individuals with dementia who are transitioning between different levels of care, including hospital, residential aged care, or home.

Your Opportunity

The Dementia Care Specialist will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of care provided to individuals with dementia by focusing on capability and capacity building.

This position involves designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs and training initiatives for staff, caregivers, and other stakeholders involved in dementia care. The goal is to equip the team with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to deliver exceptional, relationship-based care and to foster a supportive and enabling environment.

Requirements

  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare's values and mission
  • A minimum of two years demonstrated experience in the delivery of programs in a face-to-face setting and online
  • Proven experience in training and education, ideally within a healthcare or residential care setting
  • Dynamic personality with the ability to engage audiences quickly with strong rapport-building skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong learning agility
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with training technologies and software
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Current Australian driver's licence with a safe driving record and willingness to travel intra and interstate

Working Arrangements

This role is offered as a maximum term contract up to 30 June 2028, aligned to the contract and funding of the program. It is based in Adelaide, working out of our office in Daw Park, and offers working from home opportunities. The role will involve intra and interstate travel.
