We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dementia Consultant to join our team at HammondCare. As a key member of our Dementia Support Australia team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality dementia support services to individuals and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert consulting and advisory services to support the delivery of dementia care services within and outside of HammondCare.
- Develop and implement best practice support and care plans to reduce the impact of behaviours on people living with dementia and their carers.
- Assess clients with behaviours related to dementia and provide resources and ideas for effective care provision and support.
- Collaborate with aged care staff and carers to develop their skills and expertise in understanding the person living with dementia.
- Stay up-to-date with current evidence-based guidance and knowledge to ensure alignment with the Dementia Centre.
- Plan and implement engagement strategies to achieve agreed practice development objectives and quality improvements.
- Contribute to other projects and assignments as required, leveraging your expertise and knowledge.
- Expertise in supporting people living with dementia and their families.
- Experience in Australian residential aged care and/or community aged care.
- High-level negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management.
- A current Australian driver's license and willingness to travel.
- Empathy and patience.
- Relevant qualification in Allied Health, Nursing, Aged Care, or Mental Health is essential.
