About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced CSSD Supervisor to join our Perioperative Services team at Newcastle Private Hospital.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the operational management of the CSSD Department, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment that meets the highest standards of quality and patient care.

Your expertise and leadership skills will be essential in promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, while supporting your team to achieve streamlined operational management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend to the operational management of the CSSD Department within the Perioperative Services area
  • Act as an advocate for our Quality Management System and promote a safe work environment
  • Support your team to achieve a streamlined operational management
  • Meet relevant standards and best practices consistent with the CSSD specialty area

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years' experience working in a senior role within a CSSD
  • Certificate III or IV in Sterilisation
  • Sound knowledge of accreditation standards ACHS/AS/NZ 4187 Standards and HICMR
  • Demonstrated ability to show leadership and the ability to work with a wide range of people in a team environment
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills - including MS office and various data bases
  • An interest in promoting best practice patient care
  • A focus on professional development

About us

Newcastle Private Hospital is a 189-bed, acute private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. We have 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15-bed Intensive Care Unit. Our cardiac suite includes a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16-bed Coronary Care Unit. We also have a private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
