Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking a suitably skilled CSSD Supervisor to join our team on a Full-time basis.

About us

We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. Our hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.

We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region.

As a CSSD Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

·Attend the operational management of the current CSSD Department within the Perioperative Services area

·Act as an advocate for our Quality Management System and promote a safe work environment

·Support your team to achieve a streamlined operational management

·Meet relevant standards and best practices consistent with the CSSD specialty area

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years' experience working in a senior role within a CSSD
  • Certificate III or IV in Sterilisation
  • Sound knowledge of accreditation standards ACHS/AS/NZ 4187 Standards and HICMR
  • Demonstrated ability to show leadership and the ability to work with a wide range of people in a team environment
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills - including MS office and various data bases
  • An interest in promoting best practice patient care
  • A focus on professional development
