In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the development and execution of comprehensive safety programs. Your primary responsibility will be to foster a proactive safety culture across diverse teams, ensuring all employees feel secure and supported.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Cultivating a Culture of Vigilance: Drive the implementation of robust safety protocols that encourage a culture of vigilance throughout the organization.
  • Safety Policy Enhancement: Continuously review and refine policies, procedures, and systems of work to maintain exceptional standards of safety.
  • Comprehensive Safety Management: Oversee physical and psychosocial safety initiatives from conception to completion, prioritizing holistic well-being for all employees.
  • Data-Driven Compliance: Ensure accurate data and metrics for reporting and compliance purposes, enabling informed decisions that uphold safety standards.
  • Collaborative Capability Development: Partner with the capability development team to build robust safety capabilities across the organization.
  • Influential Leadership: Influence leaders and employees to embed safety into everyday practices, fostering a culture of care and vigilance.
  • Oversight and Governance: Oversee hazard and incident reporting, risk assessments, and investigations to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

We are seeking an experienced professional who has implemented and managed occupational health and safety initiatives, with a focus on psychosocial hazards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of relevant legislation and frameworks, as well as exceptional communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.

  • A tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety, psychology, health sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in standalone roles, with confidence in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Strong analytical skills, resilience, and a hands-on approach to resolving complex issues.
