This is an exciting new position within Central Australian Aboriginal Congress, a leading Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation in the Northern Territory.
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Culture Care Connect Suicide Prevention Worker.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assertive and timely follow-up care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people referred to the Culture Care Connect program following a suicide attempt or suicidal crisis.
The program aims to overcome the inequality experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people by integrating suicide prevention planning and response activity, developing and delivering trauma-aware, healing-informed aftercare services.
The Culture Care Connect Suicide Prevention Worker will work closely with the SEWB Manager and other team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that meet the needs of our clients.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and the social determinants of health, as well as experience working in a trauma-informed care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assertive and timely follow-up care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people referred to the Culture Care Connect program
- Work closely with the SEWB Manager and other team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality services
- Develop and deliver trauma-aware, healing-informed aftercare services
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Culture Care Connect program
- Participate in clinical and cultural supervision to ensure ongoing professional development
