Job Overview

The role of the VP of Capital Strategy involves leading fundraising and investor engagement efforts. This includes developing strategies to raise capital through Registered Investment Advisor channels, pension funds, and institutional investors.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead initiatives aimed at raising capital through RIAs and other institutional channels.
  • Develop fundraising strategies aligned with product offerings and institutional investor appetite.

Investor Relationship Management
  • Leverage relationships with RIAs to accelerate equity and capital commitments.
  • Act as primary point of contact for investor inquiries, ensuring responsiveness and high service standards.
  • Prepare and present investment materials, pitch decks, detailed financial models, and updates.
  • Coordinate with senior executives to deliver polished materials.

Process & Tracking Ownership
  • Implement systems to monitor fundraising campaigns, investor touchpoints, timelines, commitments, and next steps.
  • Report on KPIs and progress to the executive team.

Thought Leadership & Market Insight
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging capital sources, and RIA market dynamics.
  • Align internal stakeholders by sharing market intelligence and positioning insights.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Finance, Legal, Development, Acquisitions, and Asset Management teams to support fundraising initiatives.
  • Partner with senior executives for investor meetings and strategic outreach.

Qualifications & Experience
  • 7–10 years in a capital or fundraising role – preferably in real estate, private equity, or alternative asset management.
  • A proven track record of raising capital through RIA networks and institutional channels.

RIA Network
  • Strong relationships with a national/regional RIA base, credible reputation as a trusted partner.

Communication & Presentation Skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; adept at building compelling investment recommendations and materials.
  • Comfortable leading presentations to sophisticated audiences.

Project Management
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple live fundraising efforts.
  • Proactive, with strong follow-through and ability to pivot quickly.

Team Player & Strategist
  • Collaborative by nature; able to partner across functions and lead constituents.
  • Strategic, with a growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit.
