Optical Network Expert Wanted

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Optical Network Expert to join our team in Western Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expertise in the installation, commissioning and maintenance of customer access and core networks.

Responsibilities
  • Installation and commissioning of optical network equipment
  • Quality assurance of network builds including internal and external plant
  • Diagnose and rectify faults on the network within service level agreements
  • Ensure no unplanned network outages
  • Inspect, observe and conduct maintenance programs on the network and facilities to ensure optimal performance
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in construction, operation and maintenance of optical fibre telecommunications networks
  • Detailed understanding and skill in the interpretation of telecommunications network designs
  • Working knowledge of IP, SDH, DWDM and xPON transmission equipment and DC power systems
  • Sound understanding of operating capabilities and characteristics of devices used in telecommunications optical fibre transmission networks
  • Practical knowledge of external plant (fibre cabling, pit and pipe and optical splicing)
  • Experience working with the public and other stakeholders in the delivery and repair of telecom assets
