Job Title: Forestry Field Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forestry Field Specialist to join our team. As a specialist, you will be responsible for implementing forestry projects, conducting field surveys, collecting plant samples, and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the implementation of forestry projects, including planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Conduct thorough field surveys to assess forest health, tree growth rates, and potential pest or disease outbreaks.
  • Collect and analyze plant tissue samples to inform decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and provide regular progress reports to supervisors.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (forestry, agriculture, environmental science, etc.).
  • Proven experience in forestry or a related field, with a focus on project management and fieldwork.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate degree in a related field.
  • Certification in forestry or a related field (e.g., arboriculture, horticulture).
  • Demonstrated expertise in wildland firefighting and forest fire management.
Working Conditions:

The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills, be able to work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Regular travel to remote areas may be required.
