Role Summary

We are seeking a Claims Resolution Specialist to join our assessment team at WorkCover Queensland. As a key member of our claims review unit, you will be responsible for reviewing and approving decisions, supporting leaders in resolving customer escalations, and mentoring representatives to meet performance targets.

About the Position

  • Reviewing and approving Reasons for Decision (for delays, acceptances, rejections and upgrades), identifying trends;
  • Supporting leaders to resolve customer complaints, assess and uplift the capability of new staff through coaching and feedback;
  • Operating autonomously and mentoring Representatives to meet performance goals and resolve escalations;

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Tertiary qualifications in legal, allied health, insurance, or a related field; industry-specific certification in Personal Injury Management is desirable;
  • Advanced critical thinking, problem-solving, and ability to interpret legislation, evidence, and customer information to recommend and implement effective outcomes efficiently;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to address complex liability issues professionally, build and maintain relationships across stakeholders and influence best practices;
  • Proven ability to plan and prioritise workload, manage time effectively and operate independently in ambiguous environments;
