Job Title: Maintenance Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Associate to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities.

  • Cleaning and disinfecting all areas of the facility, including walls, windows, floors, carpets, air vents, furniture, and equipment.
  • Performing laundry duties as required.
  • Collecting and disposing of refuse and maintaining clean refuse areas; performing spot clean-ups as required.
  • Using specialized chemicals to disinfect and sanitize high-touch areas and washrooms, while exercising sound judgment and proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Cleaning up bio-hazardous areas with proper PPE.
  • Maintaining and cleaning parking lots and sidewalks using hand and powered equipment, rakes, shovels, and other tools to remove dirt, leaves, snow, and other debris.
  • Performing minor maintenance on buildings, grounds, furniture, electrical fixtures, and plumbing, such as unplugging sinks and toilets, replacing light bulbs, and fixing leaky faucets.
  • Setting up furniture for functions and meetings, and maintaining various logs, key registers, and other records; assisting in taking inventory, ordering janitorial supplies as needed.
  • Securing buildings by arming alarms, locking doors and windows, when necessary.
  • Maintaining the appearance of floors in assigned areas.
  • Developing a working knowledge of all site systems and equipment.
  • Working cooperatively with other staff members, as well as working alone responsibly.
  • Maintaining a professional yet compassionate relationship with family members and residents.
Requirements:
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and navigate stairs or ladders.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical stamina to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
