Clinical Lead Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Clinical Lead to join our dynamic team in the Medical Oncology Clinical Trials Unit. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical care, oversight, education, and support to trial patients and their carers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing patient-centered care, from referrals to treatment plans for oncology trial participants.
  • Overseeing treatment workflows and developing clinical plans for trial participants.
  • Performing specialised oncology nursing procedures, such as chemotherapy infusion and cannulation.
  • Mentoring and supervising research nurses, ensuring quality, compliance, and improvement in care.
  • Collaborating with clinical staff and Principal Investigators to coordinate care and assess new trial feasibility.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 5 years' full-time equivalent post-registration experience in Oncology Nursing.
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical trial processes, patient care standards, and investigational therapies across various cancer types.
  • A strong appreciation of the importance of evidence-based research in advancing patient outcomes.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise competing work requirements across a variety of settings.
  • Proven ability to implement change and develop direction in clinical practice through the utilisation of evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to exercise extended autonomy in decision-making when required, and to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong leadership with experience providing advice and guidance to junior members of the team.
