Paediatric Oncology/Neuro-Oncology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced specialist to deliver clinical services, conduct research, and provide teaching and training in paediatric neuro-oncology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical care to children with malignant diseases, bone marrow transplant, and non-malignant haematological disorders.
  • Conduct research in paediatric neuro-oncology, focusing on developing new treatments and improving patient outcomes.
  • Teach and train junior medical staff in paediatric neuro-oncology, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care.
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient care and achieve shared goals.

Requirements:

  • Hold a medical qualification registerable in NSW and have a current specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatrics and Child Health) in Paediatric Medical Oncology or equivalent.
  • Have at least 1 year postgraduate training in paediatric Neuro-Oncology, preferably including at least 1 year clinical training in an international dedicated paediatric neuro-oncology unit.
  • Have recent experience in the management of children with malignant diseases, bone marrow transplant, and non-malignant haematological disorders.
  • Have a proven track record in research in the field of paediatric neuro-oncology.
  • Have excellent communication skills, including the ability to express professional opinions while dealing compassionately with distressed patients and families.
