Housing Officer AO3 Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Housing Officer AO3 to join our team at Empire Group. As a key member of our Housing Services team, you will be responsible for providing a range of applicant, tenancy, and property management services and advice to customers with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to customers face-to-face and via the telephone, undertaking customer interviews, making referrals to support service agencies, and assessing new social housing and private housing assistance applications.
  • Maintain accurate customer and property records using the Microsoft Suite and internal IT systems.
  • Manage tenancy arrangements, allocations, changes of tenancy, and vacancies, ensuring departmental compliance.
  • Conduct home visits to properties, investigating and facilitating any tenancy disputes and complaints.
  • Manage property maintenance and conduct property inspections.
  • Manage and monitor rent and maintenance arrears, rent assessments, payment arrangements, refunds, and collections.
Requirements:
  • Proven customer service experience, with strong communication and de-escalation skills.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and confidence to quickly learn additional IT systems.
  • High confidentiality, empathy, and resilience to deal with people in distress.
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • A National Criminal History check will be required before placement.
  • Driver's License.
