About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Career Development Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for case management of an allocated caseload of customers with a prior offender history, focusing on finding them employment opportunities.

The role involves stabilizing non-vocational issues, building vocational skills and experience, undertaking reverse marketing of customers to suitable employers, and running group-based job search sessions to motivate and promote further job placements.

To be successful in this role, you will possess a genuine passion for recruitment and working with those in need, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop positive relationships with customers, employers, and staff.

Key requirements include:

  • Previous experience in employment services or customer-facing roles;
  • Able to demonstrate a passion and drive for helping people find employment;
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills;
  • Ability to assess, match, and refer customers to appropriate job opportunities and advocate directly to employers;
  • Strong administration skills and IT literacy, including data entry, typing, Word, Excel, and Outlook experience;
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

You will also have a minimum Certificate IV in Employment Services or Career Development or willingness to study and experience in Employment Services or a related industry.
