Drilling Crew Member Required for Underground Operations

At Mitchell Services, we pride ourselves on being a leading provider of drilling services to the global exploration, mining, and energy industries.

We are seeking a skilled Driller Offsider to join our team in maintaining safe drilling operations. The role is for a 14 days on and 7 days off roster, with FIFO arrangements from Brisbane Airport, Perth Airport, or Darwin Airport, or DIDO within an acceptable distance.

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Minimise breakage and down hole loss by performing diligent prestart checks
  • Report all incidents immediately to ensure a safe working environment
  • Discuss openly and record all hazards, near misses, and improvements to maintain a high level of safety
  • Ensure accuracy in sample markup (e.g., Core) and orientation where applicable

To be eligible for this role, you will need to possess:

  • An open car license, which is mandatory
  • The ability to obtain a First Aid/CPR certification, which is a requirement
  • An ability to obtain a National Police Clearance, which is also a requirement
  • Demonstrated experience in an Underground Driller Offsider role, which is desirable
  • The ability to work 12-hour days and operate in small teams
  • A good level of physical fitness, which is an inherent requirement, and the ability to pass a functional assessment
