Mitchell Services is a leading provider of drilling services with over 50 years of experience. Our team operates 100 rigs nationwide, working with Tier 1 clients in the global exploration, mining, and energy industries.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Drilling Operations Specialist to join our Underground Minerals Division. As a valued member of our drilling crew, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful completion of our drilling programs. The role involves working on a 14 days on and 7 day off roster, with the option to work FIFO from an agreed Point of Hire or DIDO within an acceptable distance.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Apply sound drilling practices and techniques within your range of competence.
  • Execute the hole plan efficiently.
  • Drill accurately and diligently to maximise 'Bit on Bottom'.
  • Minimise breakage and down hole loss.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance and servicing of equipment and down hole equipment / BHA.
  • Plan, schedule and organise own work within the requirements of the work plan, and coordinate with other parties as required.
  • Ensure thorough and meticulous completion of all drilling records and documentation.
  • Record and manage movement in and out of drilling consumables and spares efficiently.
Requirements
  • Australian Open Car License is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience in Diamond Coring.
  • An ability to obtain a First Aid/CPR certificate.
  • Demonstrated experience on LM90, LM110 or MDR700 rigs or similar rigs.
  • Certificate III Drilling in Operations is mandatory.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
