Health Information Manager

About the Role:
Healthscope is seeking a highly skilled Health Information Manager to join our team. As a key member of our clinical coding team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our clinical data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in case mix analysis, education, and quality activities to drive data quality and accuracy.
- Lead clinical documentation improvement initiatives to optimize data collection and reporting.
- Assist with the timely extraction and submission of mandatory data reporting to external parties.
- Develop and manage forms rationalization and digitized medical records management systems to improve data efficiency.
- Participate in audits as necessary to ensure compliance and data integrity.
- Timely and accurate clinical coding where required to support data-driven decision making.
Essential Criteria:
- Bachelor of Health Information Management or Master of Health Information Management (or equivalent) degree.
- Strong leadership capability to lead and drive success within a team to maximize performance.
- Sound knowledge of clinical coding and clinical coding audit processes.
- Sound understanding of Diagnosis Related Groups (AR-DRG), 3M Codefinder, TurboCoder, and PICQ.
- Demonstrated experience in the extraction and submission of data to external parties.
- Strong organizational skills in planning, prioritizing, and managing workloads.
- Highly developed problem-solving skills that lead to positive outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
Desirable Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in a management or leadership role.
- HIMAA certification in Clinical Coding (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years' experience using ICD-10-AM, ACHI, and ACS.
- Previous experience with Private Sector Funding Models and Reporting Models.
