About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin, where you will play a critical role in the design and development of our rocket engines. As a key member of our Engines business unit, you will be responsible for the structural analysis and design of our engines and propulsion systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain finite element models (FEM) of rocket engine components, including gimbals, ducts, brackets, and instrumentation.
  • Perform structural analysis and simulations to ensure the integrity and performance of our rocket engines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement structural analysis methods and tools.
  • Author and review technical reports and documentation to support requirements and deliverables.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers to improve their skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in structural analysis, with a strong understanding of finite element methods.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of ANSYS Mechanical and/or other structural analysis software is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with structural modeling of aerospace or other high-performance primary and secondary structures.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or MATLAB.
