Role Summary

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Structural Analysis Engineer for Rocket Engines, you'll play a critical role in designing and developing the next generation of rocket engines and propulsion systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain finite element models (FEM) of rocket engine components, collaborating with design and engine system analysis teams.
  • Perform structural analysis and simulations to ensure the integrity and performance of rocket engine primary and secondary structures.
  • Support test and failure investigations, and improve existing analytical capabilities.
  • Collaborate with IPT teams to ensure deliverables are met on schedule, and work with program and functional leadership to tackle structural problems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, mechanical, or aerospace engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in structural analysis applying FEM.
  • Excellent understanding of structural analysis and mechanics.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams, be self-directed, and balance multiple tasks.
  • Ability to communicate analysis results effectively and earn trust with colleagues.
  • U.S. citizenship or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of ANSYS Mechanical.
  • Knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language (Python/MATLAB/etc.).
  • Experience with structural modeling of aerospace or other high-performance primary and secondary structures.
