We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Analyst to join our team at Blue Origin, where we are pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a key member of our Engines business unit, you will be responsible for designing and developing rocket engines and propulsion systems that meet our launch vehicle program requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop rocket engines and propulsion systems using advanced structural analysis techniques.
- Conduct detailed structural analyses using finite element analysis (FEA) and classical methods on valves and integration components.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers to improve the performance of designs.
- Author and review structural reports to support requirements, collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure deliverables are met on schedule, and work with program and functional leadership to tackle structural problems.
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or other related technical degree.
- 6+ years of experience in structural analysis utilizing commercial FEA tools.
- Experience with structural modeling of pressurized components, rocket engine hardware, or similar high-performance hardware.
- Excellent understanding of structural analysis/mechanics, statics, fatigue, fracture, dynamics.
- Ability to work effectively in teams.
- Be self-directed and capable of multi-tasking.
- Successful at communicating structural analysis results effectively.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Familiarity with ANSYS Mechanical/Workbench.
- Knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language (Python/MATLAB/etc.).
- Experience with structural modeling of aerospace or other high-performance primary and secondary structures.
We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $112,500-$165,000, depending on location. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
