About the Role

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Structural Analysis Engineer for Rocket Engines, you'll play a critical role in designing and developing the next generation of rocket engines and propulsion systems.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain component finite element models (FEM) for rocket engine primary and secondary structures, including gimbals, ducts, brackets, and instrumentation.
  • Perform structural analysis and simulations to ensure the integrity and performance of rocket engine systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve structural issues and improve analytical capabilities.
  • Author and review structural reports to support requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, mechanical, or aerospace engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in structural analysis applying FEM.
  • Excellent understanding of structural analysis and mechanics.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and communicate complex analysis results effectively.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of ANSYS Mechanical and at least one programming/scripting language (Python/MATLAB/etc.).
  • Experience with structural modeling of aerospace or other high-performance primary and secondary structures.
