Aboriginal Strategy and Partnerships Lead (Identified)

The Tamworth Regional Council is seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the development of our Aboriginal strategy and partnerships. This role will be responsible for driving the implementation of our Closing the Gap targets and developing policies and strategies that embed Aboriginal cultural awareness and knowledge throughout the organisation.

The successful applicant will have strong connections to local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to effectively engage with stakeholders, build relationships, and develop partnerships that benefit both the organisation and the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of our Aboriginal strategy and partnerships
  • Drive the implementation of our Closing the Gap targets
  • Develop policies and strategies that embed Aboriginal cultural awareness and knowledge throughout the organisation
  • Build relationships and develop partnerships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Engage with stakeholders and communicate effectively
Requirements
  • Identify as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent through parentage
  • Degree in Social Policy, Community Development, Social Sciences, Community Services or relevant equivalent experience
  • Driver Licence
  • Working With Children's Check (WWCC)
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $112,011.74 - $121,200.39 per annum plus superannuation for a 35 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation. Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
