The role of Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant involves providing administrative support to clients, attorneys, and staff in a firm.
Main Responsibilities- Draft, format, and review legal documents such as motions, pleadings, discovery, and correspondence.
- E-file cases in state and federal courts, including knowledge of specific state court e-filing systems.
- Manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks under tight deadlines, and maintain accurate calendars and track court deadlines.
- Prepare correspondence, prepare legal documents, and schedule depositions and meetings.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least three years of experience in litigation support or as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal.
- Prior law firm experience, particularly in civil litigation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, legal practice management software, and transcribing dictation.
- Experience in healthcare, medical malpractice, and general liability.
- Familiarity with BigHand and court rules, deadlines, and local procedures.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Discretion in handling confidential information.
- Professional demeanor with clients, court staff, and colleagues.
