An exciting opportunity awaits in the heart of Australia's red centre for an Event Coordinator. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating events, fostering customer relationships, and collaborating with colleagues.

Job Overview

This role offers a unique chance to work in a fast-paced environment, coordinating event details with clients, including menus, beverages, room layouts, audio visual equipment, schedules, themes, décor, entertainment, exhibitions, accommodation, billing details, invoicing, floor plans, and delivery of store requisitions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that event details are clearly communicated to all parties in a professional and timely manner.
  • Organise and conduct Convention Centre familiarisations and client appointments.
  • Work closely with the Convention Centre Manager to develop ideas for increasing revenue and managing expenditure.
Requirements
  • A hospitality qualification or equivalent and/or formal qualifications enabling success in this position.
  • A minimum of 5 years in event coordination, essential.
  • Previous banquets operations experience.
  • Familiarity with Opera software system and MYOB, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to build, maintain, and strengthen existing customer and staff relationships.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment, taking the initiative, prioritising, working collaboratively.
  • Motivated to learn new skills and techniques.
  • Strong people relations, listening, cultural awareness, and negotiation skills.
  • Smart and tidy in appearance.
  • Flexible, reliable, and responsive to a range of work situations.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
