About the Role

Our organization is seeking a professional to manage non-performing retail asset portfolios by applying legal recovery processes and procedures to high-risk customers and accounts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and recommending the most appropriate course of action for the recovery of arrears and security given individual customer circumstances and referring to a leader for approval of decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing data to determine the reason and causes for delinquency in high-risk customers and accounts and taking appropriate action to maximize recovery of arrears
  • Preparing strategies detailing recovery options, including provisioning and write-offs
  • Issuing statutory notices and liaising with insolvency administrators and mercantile agents to conduct field calls
  • Ensuring compliance with policy and procedures, statutory and legal requirements in all recovery matters
  • Maintaining effective and congenial communications with internal and external stakeholders and responding to enquiries and requests in a timely manner
  • Identifying areas for process improvements and making recommendations to the leader

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in collections and retail recoveries
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Able to critically assess data and make objective judgements
  • Capable of handling customer complaints and achieving an effective first call resolution
  • Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory framework in which Retail Recoveries must operate
