Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Collections Specialist to manage non-performing retail asset portfolios by applying legal recovery processes and procedures to high-risk customers and accounts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying customers experiencing financial hardship and making appropriate referrals based on the customer's circumstances and vulnerabilities.

The Collections Specialist will be responsible for assessing and recommending the most appropriate course of action for the recovery of arrears and security given individual customer circumstances. This includes determining the reason and causes for delinquency of high-risk customers and accounts, and taking appropriate action to maximise the recovery of arrears.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and recommend the most appropriate course of action for the recovery of arrears and security.
  • Determine the reason and causes for delinquency and take appropriate action.
  • Prepare strategies detailing appropriate recovery options.
  • Issue statutory notices and liaise with relevant parties.
  • Maintain effective communications with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Experience in collections and retail recoveries.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to critically assess data and make objective judgements.
  • Ability to handle customer complaints effectively.
  • A strong understanding of the legal framework.
  • Banking and lending experience is desirable.
