About the Role

The Associate Director, Academic Engagement at UNSW Australia plays a pivotal role in enhancing the educational and research goals of the University.

This senior management position oversees staff who collaborate with Faculties and Schools to connect academics with Library resources, ensuring alignment with the University's strategic priorities. The successful candidate will develop and implement teaching services based on the Library's Digital Information Skills Framework, driving innovation in digital literacy and study skills.

Focused on delivering high-quality teaching and outreach services, this role involves strategic planning, resource management, and building stakeholder networks to drive excellence in Library services. The Associate Director reports to the Director of Information Services and supervises two direct reports, managing two of the four Academic Engagement teams.

About You

To excel in this role, you will require:

  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications and extensive experience at a management level within an academic library.
  • Substantial experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating high-quality library services.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and positively manage and lead people and teams in a changing environment.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with stakeholders and capacity to engage effectively across UNSW.
  • Sound understanding of relevant pedagogies and educational technologies, with their application in the higher education sector.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high-level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.

Salary

The estimated annual salary for this role is around $120,000 - $150,000 AUD, depending on experience and qualifications. We are committed to attracting and retaining talented individuals who share our passion for delivering exceptional results.
