We're seeking a seasoned professional to lead our category supply management efforts. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker who can develop and implement plans to drive growth and efficiency in the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive supply strategy that aligns with business objectives, focusing on volume, quality, and risk management.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring seamless collaboration and mutual understanding of needs and expectations.
  • Manage all aspects of product sourcing and procurement, including category planning, vendor selection, and inventory management.
  • Work closely with the sales team to identify cost-effective distribution solutions and optimize customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels, ensure rotation, and promote product quality through effective communication and monitoring.
  • Conduct market research and provide recommendations on new product lines or extensions, aligned with business goals and market trends.
  • Support the New Product Development team by identifying suitable products and contributing to successful launches.
  • Foster partnerships with seed/breeding companies and nurseries to enhance technical support for growers and approved nurseries, driving quality improvements on farm and throughout the supply chain.
  • Ensure efficient allocation and balancing of returnable packaging to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
Essential Requirements:
  • Proven experience in category management or a similar role within the fresh produce industry.
  • Strong relationships with 3rd party growers, with a solid understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • Business acumen, with excellent planning and execution skills to deliver customer expectations and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively and persuade stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • Tertiary qualifications in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field, preferred but not required.
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office, especially Excel, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to travel as required to meet with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders.
