Position Overview

The Department of Education, Western Australia is seeking a highly motivated and experienced educator to lead our primary science and mathematics program. The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and a proven track record of delivering engaging and effective learning experiences for students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive science and mathematics curriculum that aligns with the Western Australian Curriculum
  • Lead and manage a team of teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences for students
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement whole-school approaches to teaching and learning
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to teachers to improve their practice and student outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of school policies and procedures that support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning

Requirements

  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification and a valid Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) registration
  • Have a minimum of 5 years' experience teaching science and mathematics in a primary school setting
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
  • Have a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum and a proven track record of delivering engaging and effective learning experiences for students
