Senior Software Development Expert for Cloud-Native Network Systems

The University of New South Wales is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team in the School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing guidance on implementing and delivering projects and initiatives within our Software Defined Networking (SDN) Lab. This will involve leading the engineering development and implementation of cloud-native network measurement systems for services on commercial cloud platforms, including telemetry collection, analytics, reasoning modules, and an interactive user interface.

This role reports to Professor Vijay Sivaraman and does not have direct reports. You will be working closely with a range of stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.

This position requires a minimum of 5 years' experience in software development, with expertise in languages such as C++, C, Rust, GoLang, and eBPF. Experience with cloud platforms, including Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes, is also essential.

You will need to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong project management and reporting ability. The ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team is also critical.
