About the Opportunity

The School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications at UNSW has a unique opportunity for a Software Development Lead to join their team in supporting the Software Defined Networking (SDN) Lab. In this role, you will provide expertise in implementing and delivering projects and initiatives within the SDN Lab to achieve operational and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage your extensive experience in software systems development to lead the engineering development and implementation of cloud-native network measurement systems for services on commercial cloud platforms.
  • Develop and deliver cloud-native solutions that incorporate telemetry collection, analytics, reasoning modules, and interactive user interfaces.
  • Work closely with Professor Vijay Sivaraman and collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree in computing/mathematics/electronics engineering or a PhD in science/engineering with relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in software systems development using languages and tools such as C++, C, Rust, GoLang, and eBPF.
  • Experience working with LINUX system environments and Ubuntu server management.
  • Expertise in statistical modeling and analysis using Python.
  • Demonstrated project experience in the cloud-native discipline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Stakeholder management skills and ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
