Senior Consultant Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join our team in Canberra. As a key member of our economic and public policy advisory portfolio, you will work across all aspects of our business, including:

  • Methodology development and proposal writing,
  • Information gathering and analysis,
  • Client liaison and management,
  • Research, report writing, and stakeholder engagement.

As a Senior Consultant, you will have the opportunity to develop your advisory skills in economics and public policy by undertaking complex, challenging, and high-profile engagements under the guidance of highly-skilled leaders and experts in the field.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an appropriate quantitative or economics-based discipline (e.g., economics, statistics, mathematics, finance).
  • Ability to work with or create economic models and develop insights through rigorous analysis and practical understanding of markets and incentive structures.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in economics, regulation, and public policy advice in government or consulting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently or in teams.
Desirable Qualities

Additional desirable qualities for the role include:

  • Advanced analytical skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Developed analytical skills in other analytical toolkits (e.g., R, Python, GEMPACK).
  • Previous experience in relevant economic modelling areas (e.g., general-equilibrium analysis, input-output modelling, cost-benefit analysis, or demographic/workforce modelling).
