Scientist (Grade 1) - Microbiology Specialist

Alfred Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scientist (Grade 1) to join our Microbiology Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing microbiology testing, including specimen set-up, culture reading, and interpretation.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform microbiology testing according to documented laboratory protocols within acceptable time frames.
- Work collaboratively with the laboratory team to ensure efficient and effective testing.
- Participate in day, evening shift, and public holiday rosters.
- BSc or BAppSc with a major in Microbiology.
- Experience in the performance of diagnostic Microbiology testing, including specimen set-up, culture reading, and interpretation.
- Good attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to function well in a team environment and organize own work to ensure time frames are met.
