As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for partnering with the business to advise on complex direct tax matters, support structuring and transactions, and help manage tax risks.

About the Role:
  • Develop and implement effective tax strategies to optimize financial performance and minimize risk exposure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvement initiatives and enhance overall efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate as a trusted advisor to commercial and finance teams, providing expert tax guidance and input on projects, transactions, and contracts.
  • Manage tax structuring and due diligence for M&A, divestments, and corporate restructures under the guidance of senior management.
  • Assist with the review and lodgement of Direct Tax compliance deliverables, including income tax returns, PAYG instalments, and R&D tax incentive claims.
  • Support tax effect accounting processes for financial reporting, including deferred tax and provisioning as required.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors and service providers to ensure compliance obligations are met effectively.
  • Lead and develop junior team members, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of tax policies and procedures that align with the organization's goals.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external authorities such as the ATO.
Requirements:
  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Significant experience in taxation, preferably in a managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of Australian tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
