Palliative care specialists are required to provide quality patient care in accordance with established care models and ensure that clinical procedures comply with organizational policies.
Responsibilities- Assume responsibility for delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring that clinical procedures meet organizational standards.
- Accurately document patient treatment plans, outcomes, and events in prescribed documentation to support ongoing care and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Analyze data to inform decision-making and evaluate the effectiveness of care delivery.
- Develop discharge plans that address patient needs and involve community providers as necessary.
- Provide supervision and guidance to junior medical staff and ensure their awareness of clinical experience and proficiency.
- Medical qualification in palliative medicine (FRACP and/or FAChPM).
- Current Australian medical registration.
- Credentials required for the position.
- Relevant clinical experience and competence for the level of position.
- Experience in supervising junior medical staff.
- Able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
